Hemdeep Dulthummon
Hemdeep joined MUUS in 2021 as an Associate. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating deals, as well as partnering with portfolio companies’ leadership to optimize operations. He is passionate about smart and sustainable urban development.
Hemdeep grew up in Mauritius, went to school in Dubai, and earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, he developed his passion for sustainability and operations, which led to him interning with Twin Creeks Technologies, a thin-wafer solar cell company. Hemdeep wrote his honors thesis on philanthropic leadership. After graduation, Hemdeep joined Toyota Engineering & Manufacturing of North America as a Project Engineer. There, he led new model and capex projects at multiple sites across North America.
Chasing his long-held desire to have P&L responsibility for large projects, Hemdeep joined Encore Automation as a Project Manager. There he led the integration and implementation of robotic projects for the aerospace, automotive, and general industries. He also acted as a Product Manager for the development of complex automated systems. Hemdeep worked closely with senior management to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, enabling the owners achieve a more profitable sale to a strategic buyer.
Hemdeep earned his MBA from Yale School of Management. During that time, he founded a net-zero building design firm based in his home country of Mauritius.
Hemdeep currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Board for the non-profit Appropriate Technology Collaborative (ATC), whose mission is to develop sustainable programs and technologies to lift people out of poverty. On the side, he is pursuing an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a concentration in Power and Energy Systems from Purdue University. In his free time, Hemdeep enjoys exploring large cities and trying random, new activities.
